Like so many Americans, I grew up dreaming about one day visiting Ireland. I am here to tell you that when it comes to Ireland seeing is really believing! Visiting Ireland will truly take your breath away. This Ireland itinerary keeps LGBT travelers in mind but would be suitable for anyone looking to explore Dublin, Belfast and the coast of Northern Ireland. While you can always extend or shorten your trip, this itinerary for Ireland is designed for seven days of travel.

Getting to Ireland from the United States is easier than you would think. In proof, Dublin is the only European city you can fly to directly from my hometown in Cleveland. It’s just a seven hour flight. If you fly directly from Boston, it’s only six hours meaning you can be in Ireland in the same time it takes for you to obtain to Los Angeles.

The George is the oldest and biggest gay bar in Dublin. It is the first port of dial for the LGBTQIA+ community in Ireland, it is the venue where people mix together and where international visitors stop to check out the LGBTQIA+ scene in Ireland. The George features two bar areas. The main club venue has been graced by the presence of some of the hottest international acts and it’s known for the outstanding drag shows.

Things To Do In Dublin
Dublin City Centre is Relatively Compact and Easy to get Around on Foot
All of the Dublin Gay Theatre Festival venues are in the city centre within walking distance of each other and within easy reach of the main tourist attractions and city hotels and hostels.
Getting to know Dublin:
The capital centre is divided by the River Liffey into two main areas ‘Dublin 1’ north of the river (known to Dubliners as ‘the Northside’) and ‘Dublin 2’ south of the river (‘the Southside’).
The main north-south axis is from Parnell Square and O’Connell Street (the city’s main street) on the ‘Northside’ to Trinity College, Temple Bar and Grafton Street (the main shopping street) on the ‘Southside’. All of our venues are close to these streets.
