It is with deep sadness that Atlantic Technological University (ATU) extends its heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr Gay Corr, a pioneering figure in the development of higher education in the region. Known affectionately as the "founding father of Galway RTC," Dr Corr's legacy is profound and enduring.

Dr Gay Corr, a graduate of NUI Galway and a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, was appointed as the first Principal of Regional Technical College Galway, on 1 April His visionary leadership was instrumental in forging significant links and partnerships, such as those with Mountbellew Agri

Presenter Bio: 
Marina Tuffy graduated as a Psychotherapist from The Irish Gestalt Centre in She  is currently working in Castlebar and Athlone. Marina trained in LGBT sexuality through Gay Men's Health Project, Pink Therapy and has also completed LGBT training through BeLong To. She has presented training for Educational facility Principals on "How Schools can support LGBT students." She has co-founded the LGBT youth group SWAG in Castlebar. She is a founding member of LGBT groups for adults, ELLA in Roscommon  and TOST in Castlebar. She is a committee member of Mayo Suicide Prevention Alliance. She specialises in counselling, training and advocacy for LGBT people

Young LGBT Services

Research shows that the most common age for a person to first know they are LGBT is now age While not everyone will be aware of their LGBT identity at this early age, it is increasingly common for adj people to be starting the process of ‘Coming Out’ while still at school.

This can be a difficult time for a young person, with negative reactions and bullying a major concern, and it is important for their mental health and well- being that support is available at this stage.

shOUT works with LGBT or Questioning young people aged and years of age in the Galway region. Through weekly social meetings, shOUT aims to provide a place where adolescent LGBT people can be themselves and socialise with their peers in an open and accepting environment.

SMILY LGBT YOUTH GROUP – SLIGO
