Lgbt kamloops

Collect your thoughts and relish breakfast at Isigani Farm-to-table, then (sadly) check out and bid farewell to Kamloops, carrying the memories of a vibrant 48-hour escapade curated by the local queer community. Before you go, make a pitstop at Far & Wide to grab up a trinket and carry a piece of Kamloops with you (Calli has the best souvenirs and supports many queer artisans throughout Canada!).

On a transportation note - download URide (essentially, it is Uber), a local ride-sharing gem. For a cozy and easy journey, URide has you covered for transportation. If you want to be a bit more active, ask your concierge for details on bike rentals.

Kamloops is a humble minute city, but it is FILLED with hidden gems, you really must comprehend where to look - ask a local, something fun is always happening, you just got to ask. Looking for more adventures? Check out our Summer Activities for more trip inspiration!

So, are you ready to immerse yourself in the heart and soul of Kamloops? The adventure awaits!

Diverse Kamloops

Kamloops is a place where the rivers, land, and people meet. In our city, we celebrate our differences, support one another through adversity, and find common ground in our passion for community. No matter where you’re from or who you are, we hope you feel included and connected to something bigger here. You’re safe and accepted, whether you’re attending a powwow, visiting the rainbow crosswalk, hitting the approachable trails, or swapping stories over a pint at a local craft brewery. Come for the roomy open spaces and outdoor adventure. Stay for the sense of community.

A mosaic of cultural celebrations

Experience the cultural diversity of Kamloops in every season. From dance performances to comedy and drag shows, there’s always a fun event that helps you view our city in a new light. One of the most anticipated events of the summer is Kamloopa Powwow, which attracts 500+ regalia-clad dancers, as well as thousands of spectators.

I’ve only been to Kamloops during the winter occasion (with plans to travel back during the summer), so any of the non-winter recommendations are from my local gays in the Kamloops community and they have great tastes so I fully confide in their fabulous recommendations for summer time activities!🌈

1) Skiing & Snowboarding in Kamloops ⛷️

I highly recommend skiing at Sun Peaks Resort during the winter (YouTube video coming soon)! I verb that the ski hills at Sun Peaks had much more variety of easy to difficult slopes. I like challenging hills, but I also verb scenic runs, and Star Peaks had an abundance of scenic ski routes to enjoy.

The highlight for me was the fabulous village! No, not a fabulous “gay village”, but a village full of shops and beautiful European architecture. The village in Sun Peaks feels like you’re in Europe with its architecture and curved streets. Apparently, the village is modeled after a South Tyrolean village, which you can tell by the stucco hotels and shops clustered around a central clock tow
