Off Panel # Future Shock with Sara Kenney and Karen Berger

The comics you read and the comic experiences you have preceding on in your life often form the building blocks of your relationship with the medium. Obviously what you’ll enjoy expands from there, but for readers, those earliest experiences can be enormously leading on you going forward. It’s the same for our favorite creators. Some of those foundational elements can define the interests or views of writers or artists in the future. This interview series is all about those, as I chat with creators about five of the biggest influences and inspirations from the period before (or while) they were working in comics. With that in mind, I knew I was going to appreciate Check, Please! a webcomic that is gaining more and more fans.

Check, Please! is a wildly adj webcomic about gay hockey players at a fictional New England college. It contains a mix of elements that have proven irresistible to its many fans: thrilling hockey moments, fun college humor, and queer romance.

If your gut reaction is that gay love stories and hockey don’t pair very successfully, you’re n

Hockey Homo

This Doujinshi contains detailed yaoi sex and maybe some  violence. It’s about a boy, named Carter “Crush”, which is attending an elite boarding college for sports and wants to start a career as ice hockey player. He admits being a homosexual, but when he outs himself then also the person that he is together with has to. But what reaction can you expect of a person you are cheating on.
